Childbirth, and the period before and after delivery, is a cultural and social incident that is usually governed by norms.  Health care providers who do not have cultural competence along with disparities in preferences and practices between maternity care services and users can influence the decisions of females, their partners as well as families  in  uptake of  maternity care  from skilled professionals (Jones et al, 2017).  Actual or perceived cultural insensitivity along with incompetency of health care providers can make uses to perceive care as of poor quality or providers to discriminate certain users, and make them to distrust maternal health services and providers such as midwives and doctors.Cultural Considerations in Nursing Essay.
