Evidence-Based Practice Proposal – Section F: Evaluation of Process.

In 500-750 words, develop an evaluation plan to be included in your final evidence-based practice project. Provide the following criteria in the evaluation, making sure it is comprehensive and concise: Describe the rationale for the methods used in collecting the outcome data. Describe the ways in which the outcome measures evaluate the extent to which the project objectives are achieved. Describe how the outcomes will be measured and evaluated based on the evidence. Address validity, reliability, and applicability.Evidence-Based Practice Proposal – Section F: Evaluation of Process.

Methods for collecting outcome data

The outcome data will be collected using questionnaires. These are sheets of papers containing particular questions which a patient is expected to answer regarding the project, how it has affected them as well as the advantages and disadvantages and inconveniences caused (Smith et al., 2016). A scale will be devised for he patients to rate the change and the process of change. The rating scale will run from 1 to 10 with the excellent results being rated at 10 and the least satisfaction and experience being rated at 1. Questionnaires are relatively easy to analyze and their formats are similar to most of respondents (Abgaz et al., 2018). They are also easy to administer and will adequately cover the sample. Theyare also a relatively low cost method and most of the people are conversant with the question and answer format.

Outcome measures evaluation extent of the projects objectives

Outcome measures are significant in assessing the current status of the patient. In this case, they will assess the patient’s rate of contraction ofhealthcare-associated infections (HAI) which is a key objective of the project. Moreover, they will assess the overall impact of handwashing with soap and water in comparison to the use of hand sanitizers. In addition, the influence of the introduced change in the organization will be determined. The outcome scores and interpretation of results act as the baseline data for the study. Through the measurement of these outcomes, the extent to which the project objectives have been achieved will be identified and possible adjustments made to attain optimal results for the project.Evidence-Based Practice Proposal – Section F: Evaluation of Process.

Measurement and evaluation of outcomes

Measurement of patient outcomes will focus on multiple indicators. These will include the mortality rates of the inpatients and particularly cases related to infectious diseases acquired from the healthcare facility. The safety of care will also be measured together with the experience of the patients and the effectiveness of care. The timeliness of care and data transparency will also be measured. The patient feedback will be an essential tool in measuring the outcomes through the scoring scales. Evaluation will specify the extent of technology use, identify specific variables, provide criteria for assessment and project documentation (Johnston et al., 2019). In general, outcome evaluation will entail comparing condition as well as participants with other unparticipating individuals of the same kind.Evidence-Based Practice Proposal – Section F: Evaluation of Process.

Strategies to take if outcomes are not positive

A project presents the potential for either positive or negative outcomes. In this case, if the project results appear negative, a further review of evidence-based literature research will be conducted (Vermeiren et al., 2016). The evaluation results will also be used to determine the shortcomings of the study and rectify the probably occurred errors. If the problem of methodology is discovered, the project will be started all over again.Evidence-Based Practice Proposal – Section F: Evaluation of Process.

Implications for practice and future research

Measurement of outcomes and evaluation is important in the project to determine the progress of the study. It seeksto improve the patient’s experience of care reduce the staff and clinician burnout, improve the health of the inpatient population as well as decrease the clinical costs (Fox et al., 2015). The implication of this project in the practice and future research is that it creates an opening for research in this field. It also provides an evidence-based intervention to minimize hospital acquired infections and improves the clinical outcomes. On the other hand, it acts as bases for future research in this sector of healthcare.Evidence-Based Practice Proposal – Section F: Evaluation of Process.
