How do you feel about completing your first BSN course?
I have mixed feelings about completing my first BSN course. On one hand, I am sad that the experience is coming to an end. I still remember attending the first class and getting introduced to the lecturer, I was very keen not to meet any of the class material. One the other hand, I am happy because the completion validates the time that I have spent in the school by showing that I have acquired additional knowledge and experience. In addition, it puts me closer to my dream of writing nursing policies and not just implementing whatever policies others have presented. Besides that, I feel a little anxious since I need a job when I graduate and I as yet do not have a job.Journal: Observe, Process, and Reflect Essay
What are your goalsand how do you plan to achieve them?
As a nursing student, I have seven goals. My first goal is to contribute to the nursing profession through practice and leadership activities. I will achieve this goal by getting employed in a professional setting as a nursing practitioner then improving my professional knowledge, competence, skills and experience while taking on greater nursing responsibilities. My second goal is to cultivate an intellectual desire to advance nursing inquiry and study. I will achieve this goals through continually enrolling for more advanced nursing courses even as I engage in research activities (Lundy &Janes, 2016). My third goal is to participate in nursing care delivery in different environments with the objective of reducing existing health disparities. I will achieve this goal by providing regular pro-bono nursing services in disadvantaged communities such as slims. My fourth goal is to provide patient-centered, evidence-based and safe nursing care that reflects inter-professional collaboration and ethical clinical judgment. I will achieve this goal by providing my nursing services within inter-professional care teams that integrate knowledge from different health professionals to provide the best possible medical care (Duphily, 2014). My final goal is to integrate best practices in nursing practice to improve care outcomes. I will achieve this goal by keeping abreast with current evidence through extensively reading the latest medical and nursing publications (Joel, 2013).Journal: Observe, Process, and Reflect Essay
