Leadership Qualities Assignment Discussion Paper

Discussion Response

Excellent Post! You provide an understandable demarcation of your leadership qualities as per the Gallup survey report. Overall, I want to point out that leadership qualities are a set of activities or guiding concepts that leaders may use to propel them toward success. The effectiveness with which a leader inspires and leads their people has a direct correlation to the success of the organization (Waris et al., 2018). There are many various types of leadership styles, and what works for one leader may not work for another. Developing your own leadership style is important. This necessitates the development of a particular set of leadership qualities that apply to both the individual and the organization. Some qualities, on the other hand, may be found in all forms of leadership, like demonstrating to others how to do a good job instead of just telling them what to do. This is one distinction that distinguishes a great leader from a supervisor or manager in the workplace. A leader’s involvement in their job and genuine passion for seeing the organization flourish should be consistent qualities of good leaders (Xu, 2017). Summarily, leadership qualities are a structure of actions that you may take as a leader to encourage people to work together toward a shared goal—they are the building blocks of success in any endeavor Leadership Qualities Assignment Discussion Paper.

RE: Discussion – Week 5 Attachment COLLAPSE Leadership Qualities According to the reported survey constructed by Gallup, after many years of research, I understood my qualities as a leader and positively related to them. The report outlined five traits that I exhibit as a leader. While the report outlines that mainly I chose to stay neutral on most subjects, it is essential to note that such results because I do not have enough knowledge to form opinions on the given topics of discussion. Firstly, the report states that I exhibit consistent traits. This is mainly true because I believe in fair treatment for everyone. Every day, I make it a point to pay attention to how I feel and think. To keep me motivated, I keep an eye on the things that irritate, anger, and annoy me the most. I have become better at recognizing my emotions and changing my actions to match, so I am more likely to be a reliable leader. It is true that as a constant, I retain the same manner regardless of how things are going. Secondly, I clearly understand what is expected of me as a leader, which is necessary to maintain my consistency. An effective leader should have a clear vision and consistency to guide their team to achieve the desired goals and build organizational success (Collins et al., 2020)Leadership Qualities Assignment Discussion Paper.

To ensure that my team members understand precisely what is expected of them, I clarify what is expected. When and how things need to happen are all part of this. When managing a team, I make it a point to be explicit about the task’s most critical or non-negotiable components so that everyone is on the same page. The outcomes, however, are within my control, but the processes to those goals are not. Secondly, the report outlines that I am an includer. This is factual because I believe in engaging with different people and listening to their opinions. I think in the engagement even across diversity lines. To reap the benefits of diversity, it must be managed appropriately. Multicultural groups are more likely to become disorderly without incorporation, leading to reduced productivity and engagement, more turnover, and disputes. As it turns out, it is a lot easier to manage a group of people with similar backgrounds and experiences than it is to persuade teams made up of varied individuals to appreciate and embrace their unique thinking trends. However, it is also true that we will meet people from different backgrounds in workplaces and schools, and we have to adapt to work with them despite their differences. Thirdly, the report outlines that I exhibit positivity. As a transformational leader, positivity is an essential core value to foster an innovative and creative workforce for positive change (Broome &Marshall, 2021). It is true that I love staying positive and enthusiastic in all situations. I think that as a leader, you must have a good attitude. Those in leadership positions have a natural tendency to steer their followers in a good direction and away from bad ones. Positive leadership can positively impact the well-being and productivity of individuals, teams, and organizations. Fourthly, the report states that I am an arranger. I indeed enjoy having an organized, worked-out plan to deal with situations in the best ways possible. Problem-solving abilities are essential for a great leader. A leader must be able to communicate effectively, respect the perspectives of others, and be open to new ideas to solve problems creatively Leadership Qualities Assignment Discussion Paper.

Developer was the last theme of talent revealed by the StrengthsFinder assessment (Rath, 2007). In reality, I believe that everyone is a work in progress, and they have an opportunity to improve every day of their lives. Leadership puts one on a platform to recognize and help others grow into their full potential. The StrengthsFinder assessment was instrumental as it showed my leadership strengths and weaknesses.
